Who is this site for ?

Private Buyers

This site is intended for anybody who looking to buy a used car and who wants a quick and easy way of checking out the MOT history for a car, as well as some simple visual indications that show miles driven, previous tests and the types of defects the cars may have had, and which may indicate more serious issues e.g. a bent chassis from an undisclosed accident might cause brakes and tyres to wear out in the same location.

Ideally we could all buy a car from a dealership and know that we had the best of the UK consumer laws watching our backs, but sadly that's not always an option in which case a private sale is probably the only remaining option.

Jobbing Mechanics

If you are one of those salt-of-the earth small local mechanics that we all need and depend on at times to avoid main-dealer rip-oss prices, then you also might find this site useful as it provides a quick means to see the most recent advisories for a car that a customer has brought to you.

Generate potential revenue: as well as doing requested repairs you can also see when the MOT is due and what the advisories are, and use that as a basis for getting other work done or booked in ahead of the MOT!

CAVEAT EMPTOR -- BUYER BEWARE

As always, be very careful when buying from a private dealer, most people are honest, but some aren't! To that end, here are some excellent references to your rights when buying privately. We advise you read them before parting with any money:
